Information for partners – how you can get involved.
Vision Studio School provides a new and unique learning experience for 14-19-year-olds of all abilities who learn better by ‘doing’. The school is the first of its kind in the county and specialises in engineering and health and care occupations – two of the growth sectors for Mansfield and Ashfield.
Based at Chesterfield Road within the centre of Mansfield, the school imitates real-life working conditions. Students work to a 9am-4.30pm schedule, and benefit from a fully-refurbished business-like environment, equipped with the latest technology to enable them to succeed.
Vision Studio School has developed a ‘can-do’ approach in its students and develops self-assured, confident and well-rounded young people that employers will want to take on and nurture as employees.
Vision Studio School provides a rich and varied curriculum based on the National Create framework, which places a strong emphasis on practical learning. Theoretical learning is brought to life through prolonged engagement with employers and the world of work.
The school teaches the core GCSE subjects (English, maths and science) along with vocational qualifications, but delivers these through project-based learning and work placements linked directly to employment opportunities in the local area.
Employers have frequently expressed that young people are lacking in skills which make them employable, including a strong work ethic and general awareness of the real world of work.
By forging links with the studio school, you will be able to directly address these concerns, and play a vital role in creating the next generation of motivated and enterprising young people.
No matter how big or small, your business can make a difference, and your involvement could mean a successful future for your workforce development plans.
There are plenty of ways in which supporting Vision Studio School could benefit your business. With your influence, you can shape a newly-motivated workforce which will not only improve your net profit but your skills gap too.
We have the backing of some of the area’s leading employers, including Lindhurst Engineering Ltd, DB Schenker, Enable, Hall-Fast Industrial Supplies, Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and the University of Nottingham.
